Yarn, color and pattern combine in Jacaranda - an intriguing lace shawl with hints of chinoiserie in its fluid wavy zigzag curves.
The saturated stripes of the West Yorkshire Spinners yarn are perfect for this pattern - the Blue Lagoon colorway reminds me of deep blue flowered Jacaranda trees shimmering against bright skies in Vietnam.
The sample shawl was knit on 3.5mm/US4 needles with 700m/770yds
of West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4 Ply Cocktail Collection, mostly 822 Rum Paradise and 831 Blue Lagoon, with one repeat worked in 856 Tequila Sunrise.
The pattern can be knit with just two balls of yarn, and could also be worked in one colorway for a more restrained look.
Finished dimensions: approximately 157cm/62in long by 53cm/21in wide
(the short ends flare out a bit)
The knitting includes increases and stacked centered double decreases.
The pdf includes full written instructions and notes on the increases and decreases.
Jacaranda is also available as part of the knit/lab Stacked Stitches volume 1 eBook.
