knit/lab/scandinavian
A chevron motif, created by increasing and decreasing, weaves its way between stylized flower motifs inspired by Scandinavian textiles. The resulting fabric has a slightly embossed brocade-like surface.
Techniques include stranded knitting, increasing and decreasing.
I used simple color combinations in the samples to illustrate the designs as clearly as possible.
You can transform the designs with variegated or heathered yarns and/or more subtle or dramatic colors.
The samples were knit on 3.5mm/US4 needles with MC Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino 606 Blue & CC Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino 102 beige. Repeat size: approximately 11x8ins/28x20cm
This is one of a number of charts for stranded knitting patterns, which are available from my Ravelry store.
The charts can be used - individually or in combination - to design your own unique and individual scarves, shawls, throws, afghans, blankets, garments, hats, cushions, borders, bags … or whatever you want.
The pdf includes three charts, images of different colorways and a variation of the pattern with a similar structure.
Scandinavian is also available here as part of
Experimental/Ornamental Collection.
