knit/lab/painted waves

An almost abstract pattern of waves in a tangle of dropped stitches - a challenging knit, with lace stitches on right side and wrong side rows and lots of dropped stitches to keep track of.

The sample was knit on 3.25mm/US3 needles with a half set, 320yds/300m of ColorShift Yarn (discontinued - see help page) in the Peacock Blue to Hot Pink color bridge colorway.

It’s a small summer scarf, measuring approximately 17in/43cm wide by 45in/114cm long.

A project worked with a full set (640yds/600m) of the yarn and a 138st CO will measure approximately

26in/66cm wide by 57in/145cm long.

The pdf includes both written and charted versions of the pattern. The chart is quite big due to the asymmetric repeat of the wave motif.

Painted Waves is also available as part of the knit/lab Waves eBook volume 2.
